What Maya says about gambling transactions

No mention of gambling appears in Maya’s e-wallet terms and conditions, which were read directly and contain only general prohibitions on illegal activity and anti-money-laundering breaches. Under its CREDIT CARD terms, a separate product, ‘illegal gambling or unauthorized game of chance’ counts as a restricted transaction, carrying suspension or cancellation of the card as the stated consequence. In August 2025, under BSP Memorandum M-2025-029, Maya likewise took down its in-app gambling and gaming links. Confusing the two products would be a mistake, since a restriction inside a credit card agreement has no bearing on the wallet.
